I Giardini dell’Irlanda- Gardens of Ireland

Il Wicklow è una contea della Repubblica d’Irlanda conosciuta anche come “Giardini dell’Irlanda” per le sue magnifiche aree verdi e selvagge. Qui si trova il sito monastico di Glendalough, che è uno dei più suggestivi del Paese. Glendalough deriva dal celtico Gleann Dá Loch e cioè terra tra i due laghi, il sito si trova infatti tra l’Upper lake e il Lower lake.

County Wickolw is a county in Ireland. It’s also known as “Garden of Ireland” beacuse of his huge and wonderful green areas.There you can visit Glendalough and its monastic settlement, which is one of the best in the country. Glendalough comes from the irish Gleann Dá Loch which means land between two lakes, the two lakes would be the Upper lake and the Lower lake.

Le scogliere di Moher-The cliffs of Moher

Le scogliere di Moher sono suggestive scogliere a ridosso dell’oceano Atlantico, nella parte occidentale della Republica d’Irlanda. Sono lunghe all’incirca 8 Km e il punto più alto raggiunge i 214 metri di altezza.
The Cliffs of Moher are outstanding, they are located in the west Ireland and are 8 kms long.Their maximum height is 214 ms.

 

O’Brien’s Tower è una torre costruita nel 1835 da Sir Cornelius O’Brian per avere l’attenzione e colpire le visitatri. Dalla cima della toree si posso vedere le isole Aran nella baia di Galway.
O’Brien’s Tower is a round stone tower near the midpoint of the cliffs built in 1835 by Sir Cornelius O’Brien to impress female visitors.From the cliffs and from the top of the watchtower, visitors can see the Aran Islands in Galway Bay.

 

The ring of Kerry,Ireland

The Ring of Kerry is a 200-km-long circular tourist route in Country Kerry, south-western Ireland. It’s a perfect example of the typical Irish landscape : cottages surrounded by nature, lakes that look like mirrors and white beaches. As the narrow roads make it difficult for tour coaches to pass, all tour buses run in an anti-clockwise direction.

Il Ring of Kerry è un percorso circolare di circa 200 km che si trova nel Country Kerry, nel sud-ovest dell’Irlanda. E’ un esempio perfetto del paesaggio irlandese:cottages circondati dalla natura, laghi che sembrano specchi e spiagge bianche. Siccome le strade sono molto strette, gli autobus circolano in senso antiorario.

Non ci si può perdere una visita all’isola di Valentia e ovviamente non si può andare via senza aver assaggiato il delizioso gelato di questo negozio!Joe Daly è il proprietario e con sua moglie ha creato la sua linea di gelati,latte, yogurt e burro, tutto esclusivamente genuino e prodotto da loro. Il negozio ha vinto numerosi premi per i suoi prodotti e per le sue innovazioni.

Kilkenny, la città delle streghe- Kilkenny, the city where witches come from

Kilkenny,Irlanda è considerata la patria di molte streghe. Nel 1324 Alice Kyteler, proprietaria del Kyteler’s Inn, in St. Kieran’s Street, arricchitasi dopo la morte dei suoi quattro mariti, fu accusata di stregoneria e condannata alla morte sul rogo. La donna riuscì, però, a sfuggire, lasciando bruciare nelle fiamme la sua ancella, alla quale si sostituì per sparire per sempre. Oggi si dice che il suo spirito ancora aleggi nella casa.

Kilkenny, Ireland, is where a lot of withches come from. In 1324, after the death of her 4th husband, Alice Kyteler(owner of the Kyteler’s Inn, in St. Kieran’s Street)made a lot of money and was accused of practicing withchcraft. She run away and her maidservant burnt at the stake instead of her. People say her spirit still lives in the house.

Howth, il porto dove puoi incontrare una foca- Howth, the harbor where You can meet a seal

 

Howth è un villaggio di pescatori nella provincia di Dublino,famoso per la presenza di queste simpatiche foche. Pochi anni fa si poteva entrare nella pescheria e chiedere gli avanzi del pesce per poi gettarli in mare, in pochi minuti si era circondati da foche impazienti di mangiare!

Howth is a suburb of Dublin and It’s pretty famous beacuse of these funny animals,few years ago You could ask the fish-merchands to give You some fish scaps to feed them, in few minutes You were surrounded by seals waiting for food!

 

Qui ho mangiato la zuppa di pesce migliore della mia vita!La si compra in un carro vicino alla stazione ed è buonissima! Servita in un bicchiere con cucchiaio, è cremosa e ricca di pesce. Costa solo 5 euro ed è l’ideale se come me si decide di visitare Howth quando ancora è freddo.

If You go to Howth , You have to try fish-chowder!You can find It in this old van and  It’s served in a polystyrene tub, with a spoon. It ‘s a very filling meal, and delicious! Plenty of flavour-many chunks of fish!It’s perfect If It’s a cold day!

Questo è il sentiero che si può percorrere lungo la costa, non è molto lungo ma la vista è fantastica!

This is the costal path, if You go there You won’ t regret It because the view is outstanding!
